PayPal, a prominent U.S.-based payment processor, has introduced its PYUSD stablecoin to Venmo users.

PayPal USD (PYUSD), a stablecoin pegged to the U.S. dollar, will be accessible to Venmo users in just a few weeks.

PayPal disclosed the launch of the stablecoin approximately six weeks ago, indicating that it would be backed by U.S. dollar deposits, short-term Treasuries, and similar cash equivalents.

Since its debut in the open market, PYUSD has been adopted by select exchanges, including Crypto.com, Bitstamp, Coinbase, and Kraken.
