BANK OF CHINA ISSUES $28M ON ETHEREUM BLOCKCHAIN 🤯
BOCI, the investment bank subsidiary of Bank of China, revealed its plan to issue digital structured notes worth 200 million Chinese yuan ($28M) on the Ethereum blockchain yesterday. With this move, BOCI has positioned itself as the first financial institution in China to issue a tokenized security in Hong Kong.
UBS, an investment banking firm, collaborated in developing this product, which is now being offered to clients in the Asia-Pacific region.
CEO of BOCI, Ying Wang, said they are simplifying digital asset products and markets “through the development of blockchain-based digital structured products.”
Real-world assets (RWAs) keep coming to the public blockchain.
