😲HUSBAND AND WIFE PLEAD GUILTY FOR $4.5B BITFINEX HACK
On Thursday, a husband-and-wife duo admitted guilt in laundering money stolen during the 2016 cryptocurrency exchange Bitfinex hack.Moscow-born U.S. citizen Ilya Lichtenstein and his wife Heather Morgan (aka Razzlekhan the rapper🎙️) were behind the monumental hack of 119,754 stolen Bitcoin.
The DOJ said that Lichtenstein used advanced hacking tools to breach the exchange, move Bitcoin to personal wallets, and covered his tracks with cryptocurrency mixers to obscure transaction records.
The wife then took physical gold coins (converted from the stolen BTC) and buried it in California - if that isn’t true love I don’t know what is.
The tokens' initial value during the hack was $71 million, but it has now skyrocketed to over $4.5 billion in the 7 year holding period.
I’m gonna go out on a limb and say the woman’s money laundering ability is a tad better (okay 100x better) than her singing 😬…take a look at her music below ⬇️
The Bitfinex hackers are on trial but have had their trial moved due to the Trump indictment.
One of the hackers, Razzlekhan, is an amateur rapper.
She allegedly stole $4.1 billion.
