😡 UK’S DIGITAL POUND MEETS PUBLIC OUTRAGE
The UK government recently asked the public for their opinion on possibly implementing a digital currency called "Britcoin." Over 50,000 responses from the public expressed anger and concern about this digital shift.
Respondents were concerned that "Britcoin" could be used for surveillance and destabilize the U.K. financial system.
The community also feared that the digital pound's ease of movement could also promote bank runs during crises.
While many expected the currency to not see any progress until 2030, some experts are now suggesting that it will be trialed in the next couple years.
“Britcoin” has a clever ring to it, however, Brewski himself is skeptical when it comes to CBDC (Central Banking Digital Currency) implementation within the UK and beyond. 🧐

🚫 MULTICHAIN SHUTS DOWN AMONG DETAINING
After discovering that its founder and his sister had been taken by Chinese authorities, Multichain, a cryptocurrency project that facilitates the interconnection of various blockchains, has announced its closure.
There has been speculation about the whereabouts of CEO Zhaojun, but the Multichain team has now confirmed that he has been arrested, along with all of his crypto assets.

The team contacted the MPC node operators and learned that their operational access keys to MPC node servers had… twitter.com/i/web/status/1…

✋ COINBASE PAUSES STAKING IN CERTAIN STATES
Coinbase halts retail staking in CA, NJ, SC, and WI as those states require service modifications during ongoing proceedings.
Coinbase has been involved in an arm wrestling match (if not a full-on cage fight) with the SEC over the classification of its staking programs as securities.
Crypto that was already staked pre-CB’s pause will remain untouched.
A deeper dive into the staking mania can be found in CB’s thread below ⬇️
3/ Four of the states – CA, NJ, SC, and WI – have required restrictions to our retail staking services before their state proceedings are complete, even though our staking services have been available safely and transparently for years.
